I founded Allegiance, with the strong idea of developing a beautiful and
healthy Irish Setter. Our goal is to get the nearest possible perfection
in type, conformation, health and temperament
In Allegiance, every litter is programmed, it take us time to examine
with extreme care the bloodlines. We are very selective. We evaluate the
best we can the possible results and details.
In Allegiance we only breed a litter if it will contribute with qualities
for our future generations. That is why some selected dogs and bitches
always remain in Allegiance.
Allegiance has strong relationships with Breeders and Kennels that are
alike in ethics, responsibility and quality regarding our breed.
In Allegiance we are proud to see dogs and bitches bred by us in other
parts of this World.

Introduction and Goals.

Artist Luis Reyes Soto about our breed
Multi Ch Allegiance Niña Canela
Since I was a little girI fell in love with this breed through an encyclopedia,
not long after I saw the first specimen of the Irish Setter breed in person
and I just couldn’t believe my eyes, as I have written before When
Walt Disney’s Big Red’s opening, I was 6 years old, and I
was very clear then in knowing what I wanted to do and to achieve.
I founded Allegiance, with the strong idea of developing a beautiful and
healthy Irish Setter. That exists in my mind with the image of an efficient
movement. It has been achieved.
The correct movement and structure are the mark of Allegiance as kennel
and we are proud of having bred dogs and bitches that are so beautiful
and elegant showing these qualities in any environment whether being at
a show ring, in the field, or in the park.
When we talk about correct movement, it’s that movement that easily
flows with the minimum effort, and it is characterized by covering ground
through a true extension of the front and the rear, and not what we commonly
see that is performed by short and quick steps, but unefficient, carrying
the head highly, or as the hackney gait.
The breeding of Irish Setters is a hobby and passion for me that begins
with the search of a suitable dog or bitch capable of reproducing special
qualities.
This is done first by carefully choosing such dog/bitch for that special
purpose, it does not matter if this Irish setter belongs to us or not,
or if it resides in this Continent or in another.
Correct Type and Movement are our main goal, that is why the bloodlines
we plan to use are extremely studied and we only select the very best.
We only use Irish Setters that are recognized as grand producers or specimens
that come from lines of proven good producers because we only breed seeking
for excellence.
The constant study of this breed takes us to reproduce healthy Irish,
using healthy bloodlines free from genetic diseases that affect our breed;
we test DNA for the security of this breed and for the security of responsible
persons with true interest in this breed. Also as a norm we have had hips
certified as free of displasia since 18 years ago.
Our litters are very selected, extremely cared, very loved and raised
in a family environment.
In Allegiance we begin and are very well known for being over critical
with ourselves, trying to do a better job every time.
Judges from all over the World and that know this breed very well, have
awarded our dogs, just like exhibitors from other countries have selected
our dogs for showing or breeding.
We constantly show in the USA, there we have the opportunity of measuring
our Irish in shows that include a large number of other Irish and of the
same quality, achieving important awards as BOB wins and Group placements
as well as American Champions.
We do not sell our Irish for commercial purposes; we care a lot that the
chosen home has to be equal or better than ours.
The red Irish Setter so Beautiful, with proper Type, Healthy, and Happy,
is our foundation, is our main purpose and goal.
